ESLR awards

This morning the GRADE TWO ESLR (Expected School Wide Learning Results) winners were ...

Hana demonstrated the actions of a life-long learner as she used Science Vocabulary outside of the classroom during the field trip. She sees the value in taking learning beyond the classroom and into the real world.

Mohammed is demonstrating the traits of a dynamic communicator as he is beginning to use his English speaking skills with his friends in his class.

ESLR Awards

Dear Parents,
From now on every Friday the school will hold a brief assesmbly with all students. We will be recognizing students who demonstrate some of the ESLRs (Expected School Wide Learning Results). Of course teaching students the curriculum is only one aspect of school. We also teach them how to be contributing members of our society, now and in the future. As such, these ESLRs in the poster below model what we are looking for among students.
Thanks
Ms Meyer

(As a result of homework club on Thursday after school, many students do not bring home their homework folders. It may be difficult to have their spelling words to study for Friday's test. I will begin posting the words for this reason).

Reading Level

Dear Parents,
For those students who stay with Ms. Meyer for Language Arts, I have emailed you the reading level of your child. I will be completing more assessment next week and will email you again with an updated level.
For those students who go to ESL, you will know the level of your child based on the books that are in homework each night.

The letter I give you is different from the letters on the back of RIS' library books. In order to understand the difference, please see the chart.
Thanks

Field Trip

(This link shows you where we are going)

Our Field Trip is changed to this WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2011.
We will leave the school at 9:20 and return at 3:20. Students are asked to wear the P.E. uniforms and warm winter clothes (hat, mitts, scarf).

he school will provide sandwhiches, but students should pack their own drinks and snacks. They can bring a small amount for money for drinks (no more than 5,000W).
