Monica's Neighbourhood in the USA
Science: Intro to Plants!
We have begun our year in Science learning about Plants and how they grow. We will learn how plants 'drink' water through their capillaries. In order to do so we've used coloured liquids so we can watch how the water reaches the top of the plant. Tomorrow the students will be surprised at how the capillaries have changed colour!
We have also soaked dry beans and are waiting for them to germinate so that we understand how plants grow from seeds. It should be fun!

Sena's Neighbourhood in Turkey
I have included more photos of Turkey! This time they are from Capadoccia, a place where I visit this summer (along with other teachers and Mr. Altay!). That explains the first picture!
Otherwise, here is Sena's interpretation of the photos...
These photos show our hometown, Kaman, a small city with 20.000 population in Capadoccia region.
Fruit trees, vegetables and wheat are harvested from early June to late September.
We have cherry, apple, apricot, plum trees in our garden.
There is a small lake and mountain also.
We hold traditional bazaar in every wednesday.
Senas grandmother and grandfather can be seen in photos.
